Serving Guide
This chart will give you a better idea of how big of a cake you can expect for the amount of servings you request. The number of servings listed are intended as a guide only and offer a small portion. If larger portions are served, then you will have less servings than the chart indicates. The servings are based on a 3 layer cake with two layers of filling, and finished cakes will stand around 5" tall. The exception are sheet cakes, which are two layers of cake and one layer of filling. If there are more or less layers, the serving amounts will differ accordingly.
If you are serving cake as the sole or primary dessert at a function, it is recommended to halve the amount of servings shown below. Carved cakes will be designed accordingly based on the number of servings requested. Remember, if in doubt whether the servings will be adequate, it is always best to order extra servings than run the risk of running out of cake!
Smash cakes for first birthdays are 4" separate cakes. These will be on their own boards for the little ones to enjoy.
